Looking for a church in Tokyo?  There are so many choices, but yet then again really not enough.  Some choices in the greater Tokyo area are
Tokyo Union
Tokyo Baptist
Lutheran Church
Hope Church
Hope Tokorozawa

And many, many, others.

There are a number of good churches but it really depends on what you want.  Some are more traditional with hymns and a quiet service.  Others are more Spirit-filled singing of Hillsong, Vineyard, and a myriad of other contemporary worship songs.  I remember visiting one church and just as I was starting to get into the worship, it finished.  I felt almost cheated of the opportunity to worship God.  Some churches are really social support groups while others just provide an avenue for those who feel like they should go to church.  Finding a good church in Tokyo, or anywhere in Japan for that matter, really comes down to one question.  What are you looking for?

For Victory, church is about a powerful time of worship and a Holy Spirit Anointed pastor or leader coming up to minister the Word of God.  When you leave church on Sunday, you should not only feel good about catching up with friends, but more importantly you should know that God has spoken to you and charged your spiritual batteries.  The only way to do this is really by the a worship that is so awesome and true that people can come into you church and get saved just by being a part of the worship.  By the time the message comes, people’s hearts should be so prepared that they are ready for the Word the Holy Spirit speaks to each and every one of them individually as the minister shares the Word.

Victory Word Church is also about social.  We love to get together, share the Word, eat together, chat, fellowship, and have all sorts of activities.  We have barbeques at the river, kids events, gospel concerts, English chats and neighborhood outreaches, community clean ups and all sorts of other things so that we can be a blessing to the people around us and the community here in Japan.  We celebrate baptisms of new believers like there is no tomorrow.

We get thousands of people hitting our website from Japan, US, Africa, the Philippines, Europe, from so many places we can’t keep up.  If you are looking for a church just remember one thing.  When you come out of church on Sunday, you should have gone with an open mind and an expectant heart.  If you leave feeling empty pray for that pastor/minister.  Also pray for God’s wisdom on what church He wants you to contribute to.
